My kids love eating these with my homemade tomato ketchup, and ask for it in their tiffins all the time! But a plate of these hot semolina fries also make for a fun 5 pm tea-time snack for the adults!

Tiffin-friendly: These fries remain fresh and crunchy even after a few hours of cooking, which makes them perfect tiffin-box material!  Healthy snacking: I love baking these chips in the air fryer. It’s not just healthier, but air frying also makes the chips CRUNCHY Nutritious: This recipe uses a CUP of veggies to improve its nutritional value

Sooji Fries Ingredients Overview

Making these sooji fries require just 7 pantry staple ingredients + water. The main ingredient is sooji aka semolina. We also add veggies like carrot and zucchini to up the fries’ nutritional game. They are then seasoned with chilli flakes, oregano and salt to add lots of flavor and aroma. You’ll also need oil for frying.

Richa’s Top Tips

You can use any neutral-flavored oil like vegetable, canola, sunflower or peanut to fry these fries.  Make sure to keep the fries at about 3mm to prevent them from breaking apart during the frying process.  Make sure to flip the fries half way through the process if you are making these in the air fryer.

These sooji fries will be over even before you can put them on the plate; they are that addictive! Serve these with your favorite dip for a fun snack for the whole family. Do leave me a comment if you try these and don’t forget to send photos over on my IG @my_foodstory.
